In their words,
  • the people of Buyat Pante are not going out to fish “because they have been instructed not to go out to sea and have been subjected to intimidation by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO). The community have also been promised by NGO of getting houses and large amounts of money if their struggle is successful.”
  • “There are no extraordinary health problems in Buyat Pante. The community suffers from general illnesses as suffered by other communities.”
  • “What has happened at Buyat Pante is that several people have been instructed by NGOs to pretend to be sick when a reporter is present, particularly a television reporter.”
